Yes, he is a frog, and frogs need a wet skin to survive, why would this one risk his own life near a furnace?
Well, he uses a super special suit, that has a water circulation on it, built by a mad scientist friend of him. Now Nax is able to performe his dream job, his helmet is retractable so it allows him to use the pipe when needed and it closes when the heat protection is inevitable.
